Hey Guys,

I was wondering if there was a way to make your .pst the default delivery location in outlook, but use the calendar from your mailbox. I know it can be done in outlook 2000, but not sure about outlook 2003. Any help in this matter will greatly be appreciated.

Ash

This would probably be easiest to setup with favorites. Put the inbox and calendar in your "Favorites" folder so you can see them quickly.

How to setup delivery of said email would be accomplished by doing the following:

In Outlook 2003, you can select any folder as your startup folder. (Tools, Options, Other, Advanced)
Users of older Outlook versions need to create a shortcut pointing to that folder and use the shortcut to open Outlook.

Create a shortcut using the full path to OL and add /select foldername to the command line. The command line will look something like:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\outlook.exe" /select Outlook:\\Hotmail\Inbox

Tip: To get the proper path for any folder, show the Web toolbar and select the folder. Copy the path from the Address bar.

Good luck!

If I am understanding you correctly, you connect to an exchange server and want your emails delivered to personal folders but want to keep your calendar on the exchange server.

Go to tools, email accounts. View or change existing accounts. Next. At the bottom of the screen your will see
Deliver new e-mail to the following location. Click new outlook data file and create your personal folder file. After that change the location to deliver new mail to the personal folder you created.

In the Navigation Pane, click on Calendar. Towards the middle you will see a section called My Calendars. Put a check mark next to Calendar in Mailbox and uncheck Calendar. This will make your calendar on the server viewable.

Hope this helps.

Edit on above. You will need to close and restart outlook after you change the location the emails are delivered to.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the reply, everything works except my meetings. When I get a meeting request, the meeting goes to my .pst calendar and not my mailbox server calendar. How can I fix that

I have .pst files as well and my meetings go to both calendars. Is Outlook operating in Cached Exchange mode? Go to tools, emial accounts. Click next. Highlight your Exchange account and click change. In the next screen make sure that Use Cached Exchange mode is checked. Click O.K. and Finished.

Hey Michbar

Once again thanks for the reply. I turned the Cashed Mode on, but the meeting still won't show up on my mailbox calendar. Does it take a few minutes to show up...or do I need to exit outlook and re-open outlook. Once again I appreciate your response.

Thanks!
Ash

You will need to exit outlook and reopen.
