Hey can Outlook 2003 be installed with office 2000 standard. We have a terminal server with Office 2000 and want to install outlook 2003 can this be done?

You would need to install Office 2K without Outlook or full Office 2K then do a stand-alone install of Outlook 2003. OL2003 will replace OL2000 but leave the other apps alone.

You would either need only the OL2003 client install or Office 2003 and use setupolk.exe to install only Outlook.

Yup it works, I am runing office XP with Outlook 2003. Installed Office first, then Outlook which upgraded 2000 to 2003.

It's the same no matter the version - if outlook is not the same version as office, no office envelope features. The most frequent complaint is the loss of word as the editor - most people can survive or make do pretty good
without the other missing features. so, if you aren't using word, it's mostly just an inconvenience.

Mail merges need to start in word, not outlook.
New letter to contact fails.
File, Send to, Mail recipient fails (this uses the office envelope) but mail recipient (as attachment) works.

If you a heavy Office user, don't do it. You'll lose too much functionality.
