Hi there

I have MS Outlook 2003, and Windows 2000 Professional, and have read about the Business Contact Manager add on. I have about 4000 contacts, and have a few questions. I have hunted for comments about usage of BCM, but have found nothing definitive.

Does BCM require the sql engine to be running ?
Are 4000 contacts too much for BCM ?
What is the workable limit of contacts for BMC ?
Is there a better alternative to Business Contact Manager ?

Can I in fact just run with Outlook contacts without BCM with 4000 entries ?

I basically want to keep track of mailouts, phone contacts, and customer visits for these contacts; and perform selective mail merges using the contacts list.

Any help would be appreciated. [smile]

Pete perform a goggle search for microsoft +business +contact +manager you will get tons of great hits, how to use, how to back up, etc. I'm a newbie with BCM looks good but it seems the MS has left us out in the cold again. I cannot find any software that will sync with my PDA. The Outlook address book and BCM are two totally different addressbooks. I really like some of the function that it provides but I'm not sure it I want to go to far out on the limb and put my business in it.

BTW if not installed you will really like LookOut for Outlook (it is now owned by MS, sigh) see the following link for details and for the code see

thanks for the links to LookOut [smile]
