Is there anyway to save a "View" in Outlook tasks so that it I can retrieve that view, with all it's settings?

I've created a custom View in Outlook Tasks which groups by category and sorts by date in ascending order. Unfortunately, if I change anything by accidently sorting a column by clicking on the header, or changing the way it's grouped I can't retrieve my previous view. Outlook seems to keep every change made. As I recall in older versions of Outlook I could "Save" the view, so no matter how it was changed I could just retrieve the last saved view to get it back the way I wanted.

In OL2K3 its view ->arrange by ->current view ->define views.... When the custom view organizer comes up click "new" and proceed from there.

Cheers.

Thanks cmeagan656. Unfortunately that doesn't fix the problem. The issue is that if I define a view as you describe and later change ANYTHING, that change sticks as if it was autosaved or something.

For example, my "defined view" is named "Eric's View" and has my tasks grouped by category and then sorted within that by due date. If another user clicks on View > Arrange by > Size (for example), the grouping disappears! If I go back to View > Arrange By > Current View > Eric's View... nothing changes! It won't go back to the "defined view" that was organized in groups and sorted by due date. In older versions of Outlook you could always get back to your saved view no matter what changes were subsequently made (provided that view was not "re-saved").

Sorry, I misunderstood your orignal post. I see what you mean. If you define a custom view and then change the sorting there's no way to get back to the original way that you set the view. The "reset current view" which is available for the predefined views is greyed out.

I checked MS help and googled and can't find anything on resetting a custom view. I'd be interested in finding out too.

Cheers.
