Outlook 2003 Taskbar Icon looks like Outlook 2000 after upgrade 2

Outlook 2003 Taskbar Icon looks like Outlook 2000 after Office 2003 upgrade. I have tried detect and repair with no luck. Any fixes out there?

For Outlook 2003 the desktop and Quick launch icons are the correct icons (Orange/Yellow color).

When Outlook 2003 is open the icon in the Taskbar is Brown (The same icon from Outlook 2000).

Outlook 2003 still works fine but it is a cosmetic issue....

I have the same problem. I also have the old icon on the desktop. How can I get the new icons to show up for both the desktop and systray?

I am still not finding any answers. My guess is it has something to do with Windows 2000. Do you have this problem in XPSP1?

I have done a fresh install (not upgrade) of Windows 2000SP4 and Office 2003 and still the same results. I haven't tried this with XP.

i had the same problem, upgrading to winXP seems to have fixed it..

I messed around with the screen settings and choose to display the large icons and the new one showed up. I then unchecked the large icon box and it kept the new icon for now. Not sure if it will stay because a friend of mine said that his icon changed to the new icon over the weekend and then changed back all by itself. However the systray icon is still the old one and we also have problems with Outlook closing if you are using cached mode. It hangs and will not close the systray icon.

Thanks Jay, We also have an intermittant hang problem with cached mode... I pretty much gave up on the Old Icon issue. Time is too valuable to waste it on icon color..lol
