Outlook 2003 task request

Our office is running outlook 2003 with microsfot exchange server. When i try to do a task request to someone in our office it comes up on the other end as "this task has been assigned to more than one user. This item will not be tracked"(even though i am only sending to one person). The task can still be accepted and completed, but it won't update in my task list when the item is completed. I receive an email saying the item has been completed, but it won't update in my task list.

My email is delievered to my exchange account(not personal folders). Other uses in the office have their email delivered to personal folders. I've tried changing this but it doesn't seem to help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

further to this...

when i disconnect myself and the receipient from the exchange server things work fine. for some reason when we're connected to the exchange server it thinks the task has been delegated to more than one person...
