I am having a strange problem with Outlook I am hoping someone can help with.
We had a website transferred to a new web host. Went thru the domain transfer thing, etc. Once the new website and e-mail was up and running, the e-mail was set up on each workstation. We had some problems with the router set up.

The Covad router had a hosts file with old web domain name and e-mail server. (I am not sure why). They cleared the hosts file.

All workstations work with new e-mail server.

One workstation is the problem.

Set up Outlook with new incoming/outgoing servers. Worked fine.
Rebooted computer, Outlook cannot find outgoing server or improper password. Tried typing in the correct password to no avail.

Deleted account, recreated account, worked fine until computer rebooted.
Deleted Profile, recreated profile, worked fine until computer rebooted. Same error message.

Deleted account from Outlook.

Set up Outlook Express - worked fine until reboot, then same error message.

It seems that either the e-mail client is trying to go to the old server or something is hanging on to a bad password.

We checked for persistent routes in the workstation and there was none.

Can anyone help with this?

Thank you,

Jerry

Check you event logs and see if your are having RPC problems.
Check connectivity after reboot. Can you ping, telnet, etc. the mail server.

Thanks for the assistance!!! I'll post back when we get it figured out.
