Hi:

I had nightmares with Win2K and Exchange 2003 server for outlook to connect.

Now I have upgraded my OS to WIndows XP prof. I have SBS2003 running on my Server .

I have outlook 2003 running on my XP and am trying to connect to my SBS2003 Exchange.

It says Exchange server unavailable and won;t connect. I have my IP address and server name on the hosts file on my XP machine. However I can connect to my server on VPN.

PLEASE SOME BODY HELP

Thanks in advance

please try to edit LMHOST as well

You can use nbtstat -R to refresh LMHOST cache instead of restarting client.

Cheers,
Robert

Where is your XP Computer's TCPIP settings for DNS pointing to? (i.e. ISP DNS or SBS2003)

I got a similar problem. When starting Outlook, it tells me that my Exchange Server is unavailable, however I can acess it using Internet Explorer or any other Browser.
I am a client of a ICS/NAT Gateway and I am running Windows XP Professional. The host of the Gateway is running Windows 2000 Professional.
Can anybody tell me where the problem lies, I do not really get what people mean by LMHOST or stuff like this.

(PS: I do not have admin rights to configure the exchange server. I also think that I get the same problem with for example Hotmail.)

Thanks already... (HELP:-(
