Hi I am using Outlook 2003. I am having trouble when I put an appointment in my calendar and send it to other people via the internet. If I type a persons e-mail address it arrives to them as appointment, however I select the persons e-mail address from my contacts it arrives as an e-mail message instead.

Under options I do have send appointments as Icalendar format over the internet, ticked

Can any help

Paul

Well, what precisely do you want to happen - you've mentioned two possible scenarios, and I'm not quite clear on what you want as the final result. Let me know and I'll be happy to help!

Hi
Sorry did not make it very clear. I would like it to arrive as appointment so people can use the accept or decline options and not arrive as an e-mail message. Again it does arrive as appointment if I type the e-mail address and arrives as an e-mail message if I select the address from my contacts.

Thanks very much

Paul

Okay, your first step is to untick that iCalendar option ... what iCalendar does is enable people who may not be using Outlook to receive your request. However, it takes away all the recipients' response ability (tracking is disabled with this option.)

If doing this does not fix your problem, let me know and I will try to come up with something else for you.
