Hi everyone

I'm trying to share an Outlook 2003 calendar over the same domain so that a secretary (outlook 2000) can view dates, add dates and edit dates. The permissions have been set by the Outlook 2003 user and the secretary can view the calendar. When she tries to add a date in, she gets the error:-

"unable to open free / busy information"

Can anyone help with this?

Both users are on the same domain etc, and exactly the same procedure has worked for other people.

Many Thanks

additional information - The user who is trying to access the calendar can add, edit or delete a date once, but then recieves the error. The user has to restart outlook a couple of times before the calendar lets her add, edit or delete again.

any suggestions?

A quick google search finds a few things....one post taken from another forum:

SYMPTOMS
When you use the meeting planner to view another person's free/busy time,
you may receive the following error message:
Unable to load free/busy information
CAUSE
This behavior may occur because there is a problem with the other person's
published free/busy information.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, refresh the free/busy information by running
Outlook with the /CleanFreeBusy command-line switch on the computer that is
experiencing problems publishing free/busy information. To do this: 1. Click
Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy.
3. Click OK.

Thanks for the reply UKG. I've managed to solve it. I did try the Microsoft solution (I always look there first) but it didn't work on it's own. I had to give the secretary mailbox rights as well as calendar rights.

Thanks again
