We are in process of upgrading to Office XP. We are disappointed to see that "insert as shortcut" is not an option anymore in Outlook (apparnetly with Outlook 2000 SP2 they block shortcuts as "potentially unsafe" attachments anyway...). Anyway, the only viable replacement we have is "attach as hyperlink." But on many computers, it appears when they are sent a hyperlink to a file on a shared network drive, the "hyperlink" is not a hyperlink at all, just text. Does anyone know why this happens? I don't know if it is the person sending or receivig the hyperlink that is having a problem. Any advice is apprecited.
FYI, the reason we use this is because we have some users on slow connections, and we do not want to send large files through e-mail. Plus, this saves out Exchange server a little stress in the process.
