We have a user who received several Word documents as attachments to an e-mail. She would like to be able to print all of the attachments at once with out having to open each of them first. We are using Outlook 2002. According to this KB article ( you just click File -> Print and check a box that says "Print attached files", but we don't have this box. Has anybody else had this problem? Any idea how to do this?

Thanks for the help.

No, but if you open the print window by selecting File | Print and select the Options tab, can you then see the Print all linked documents box? Would that do it?

No that didn't work either. I saw it an tried it, but it just prints the message and not the attachments.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Could this possibly be because you have updated the print driver from the "built in" windows driver to the updated hardware manufacturer's printer? This can sometimes inadvertently suppress features just as well as it can enable them!

What printer is it, and what driver is it using? Also, you may verify that the driver is current, try downgrading to an earlier driver, or substiting and old "standby" type driver--just to see if that has any affect on it. We usually use the good ol' HP LaserJet III drivers as they are quite universal.

The default printer on my pc is an HP 4L and the driver is the one that came with Windows XP. I'm not sure what the default printer is for the other person having this problem, but I will look into this.

Thanks

I found the problem. If the message is sent in HTML form then you do not have the option to print the attachments like the KB article says. The message must be in Plain Text to have this option. Here are the steps to change the message from HTML to Plain Text.

Open the message.
Click Edit
Click Edit Message
Click Format
Click Plain Text
In the warning dialog click Yes.

I can print the attachments for HTML formatted e-mails. Under file->print, make sure the print style is set to Memo Style. If it is Table Style you won't have the option to print attachments.
