I am just in the middle of implementing roaming profiles on a mixed NT network. On the Win98 clients everything appears to work fine. However, I have a few XP Pro clients, and they are proving to be a challenge.
User 1 has been logging in to his workstation (not the server) and has been using Outlook 2002 (xp).
I now have him set up to log in with a new login name and password - and he cannot open outlook. Says mapi32.dll is either corrupt or the wrong version. YET, I can log another user onto the machine and open outlook without a problem. His user info is not there, so he cannot get his email (yet) but no problem opening outlook.
What gives???

are you using Exchange or just using roaming profiles with roaming Outlook settings?

At this point no exchange.
We may be implementing Exchange Server or another mailserver in the future.

if you have been able to implement roaming Outlook XP profiles with WinXP Pro clients, please let me know how you have done so

I have not done it yet, but apparently by mapping a network share to %username% and putting the file repository there, full outlook can do it. Outlook express cannot use network or shared drives, so cannot. I don't have an Outlook user roamed yet.
