Hi All,

Here's the scoop. I have a local pst running on a laptop (which also uses offline folders)and I cannot for the life of me figure out why everytime I try to delete items in my sent folder that are dated 2001 and older...I get this error message:
The messaginginterface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.

Any ideas??? Please. I've ran inbox repair and the like and no luck.

TIA

Pikk

Is the Sent Items folder to which you refer in your personal folders (*.pst) or in the off-line copy of your server-based folders?

Hi Nc

The sent items are in the local pst. This particular laptop only uses a local pst and not the Exchange mailbox. It also uses Offline folders.

Thnx

1. Are you deleting multiple items at once, or does the error occur even when deleting single items?

2. Can you open these messages without a problem?

3. Was the PST ever password protected?

Sorry, just trying to gather as much data as I can. :)

Nick...

No problem. The messages are opening fine. It doesn't matter if you try to delete all or just some and it is only messages from 2001 and back don't delete. All sent stuff from this year are ok. As for a PW...no..none was ever used.

Thnx Tons!!

Check out this link - it may help with your problem???? It is a "fix" available from MS but not sure if it has anything to do with your problem...

Enter the link above, and enter your error message and then choose the 2nd resulting item
