Outlook 2000 Unable to save attachments

I have been having problems saving or attaching files to emails using outlook 2000. The following message is generated:-

Can't create file: <filename> Right click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder.

This has nothing to do with long file names or any surcurity issues. Outlook is at 9.0.0.6627 (sp3)

Can anyone help please

Thanks for the post but as i stated in the post this has nothing to do with long file names
