Hello, asaid, congrats on your new job!

I don't have an answer, only a couple of things to consider:
- is your account setup as a .pst or as an Exchange-based Mailbox? (.pst files in a network environment are evil).
- have you looked in all of your contact files (Global, Contacts, All Users, All Contacts?)

I've seen users with multiple Contact list problems, somehow tied into new account set-up issues. Your office/dept may wish to consider keeping the shared contacts in a public-type folder to minimize the trouble of maintaining lists on each PC.

I'll be out of pocket for a few days, but the above is about the extent of my knowledge on the issue...

Did your contacts import OK and you just can't see them when you go to send an email but they do show in your Contacts folder?

Assuming the answer to the above is yes then go to the Contacts properties and on the Outlook Address Book tab make sure that "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book is checked.

Cheers.
