OUTLOOK 2000 Hangs

Probably a personal folder that is too big or having a problem reading it. If this is on an Exchange environment remove the personal folders and start Outlook.
Check the size of personal folders and see if any of them are near 2 GB.
Add the Personal Folders back one at a time and see if Outlook has a problem reading them. If you find that it does and it is not too big you may need to run the inbox repair tool on it. But always back it up before you do or during the repair option if prompted. Just in case.
