Hello, when I create a distribution list in Outlook (personal e-mail group stored in my Contacts folder) and send out an e-mail for that group, the names of everyone in the group are displayed when they receive the e-mail. Does anyone know how to set up the distribution list so that when the recipients receive the e-mail, it shows only the name I assigned to that group? Thank you.

Hello. That is the difference between a personal distribution list and a public distribution list. If you are accessing your mail through an Exchange server you will need to get you Exchange administrator to create a public distribution list for you.

A personal distribution list will always show all the names of those listed in the list.

As an alternate method to the public distribution list you can BCC your personal distribution list and then enter your self in the TO: field and no one will see who is being copied. joegz
