Does anyone know if an Option 61 has any kind of built-in rudimentary CDR/call-accoutning? I don't have a call accouting system, but someone is dialing 911 for no reason and I want to trace the call to find out who it is.

Based on my thread searches, the answer to my question is no. I would love it if someone could contradict this conclusion.

CDR is available on all Meridian systems. It is RAW data that is output from the route. It is not fancy and cannot list any particular extension. It lists them all! You have to collect and sort in some sort of spreadsheet. You have some basic programming to do on the ADAN and Route.

Check your history files, the information you want may already be printing there. It would look like this:

% 911 CALL RECORD
% TIME: 08:43:02 FEB 15, 2010
% CUST: 0
% NAME: User Name
% ORIG DN: 6318 DES: VFWHQ
% CALLING# COMP: xxxxxxx (phone #)
% TER RTMB: 3-2 ACOD: xxxx
% CALLED# SENT: 911
% CALLING# SENT: NONE
% OSN0000 RECORD END

trvlr1 - I'm a bit of a Nortel novice. What LD are the history files in? Also - how far back to they go and can I search by date?

ld 22
prt
ahst

depends on your buffer size/pbx size, might get 4 days or more, might get 1. search on spesific - no, after prt yes.

bigindian65 - Thank you. It only goes back a day, and nothing I saw indicating anyone calling 911. Is there any way to modify this report so that it captures that information?

Also - I didn't understand your "specific search" suggstion - no, after prt yes. Where do I have the option of typing no?

you have to print it (ahst) can't just prt osn or 911 etc, but can search on it like you wld anything else if you copy it to word or something. chg buffer size in ld 17 ADAN
HIST
prt adan in 22 as well to see its size today. it will be the 1st one labeled HIST

bigindian65 - The size is listed as 20000, which I assume is bytes.

If I go to LD 17, my memory shows as follows:

EM AVAIL: (U/P): 5759371 USED U P: 1079668 124160 TOT: 6963199

I presume that the buffer size for the history file must come out of the memory available. What I don't understand are what U and P are for. Does that mean Used and Protected? If I'm correct, I assume I can increase the history buffer size out of the available memory (5759371), right?

No, you can't use it all. Depending on your system software, there are maximums. Start out small and then try larger increments of 64k.

it is a range - - SIZE (0)-65534 Size of History File buffer in characters.

chg it to 40 or 50k if you want. don't worry about the memory header, that is for CFN, not your history buffer size.

To do what you want, you first need to know if you have Emergency Services Access (ESA) configured on your system, go to LD 24 and
REQ PRT
TYPE ESA
It should show you if you have it configured, then the info should go to any TTY that has USER MTC or the History file if it has MTC defined. You can also have an Onsite Notification Phone that would have an OSN Key on the phone that would light up when a 911 call was placed and you would just press the key on the phone and it would show the info on the display of the phone.
If ESA isn't configured and you are a novice I would recommend having someone like your vendor set it up, it can be a little tricky, you also have to have the software packages to support it.
Hope this is of some help.

lklampfer: Thanks for the information, I wasn't aware that there was even an ESA. When I go to LD 24, and PRT ESA, this is what I see:

MEM AVAIL: (U/P): 5744371 USED U P: 1079668 139160 TOT: 6963199
DISK SPACE NEEDED: 193 KBYTES
2MB BACKUP DISKETTE(S) NEEDED: 1 (PROJECTED LD43 - BKO)

I don't see anything relating to ESA. Does this mean it isn't configured, or is this the memory used for ESA? (I would think the former).
