recently we changed all our outgoing calls from our lec to a voip provider but with that change we are now losing caller id on certain exts not all, so the party receiving the call are now seeing our voip provider info.i think it has something to do with our pbx sending caller id although everthing was fine prior to the change.i am new to this so any help will be appreciated.(definity systems g3)

It is depending on the regulations in your country. I know in the Netherlands providers are not allowed to send callerid's that are not of their network.
So it could well be that the VOIP provider is replacing the CLI with the main number of the IP-trunk.
Otherwise you have to fill in the form change public-numbering-unknown and fill in the info needed.

i contacted them and they said that the numbers arent sending caller id,but the caller id was fine before the switch. if that is case how would i go about checking and then changing the public numbering

ch pub 1
then fill in info you want
in my case, almost all numbers send out the main number,, and all of our extensions start with 5,,
one user(5835) has a specific number sent...
Code:
display public-unknown-numbering 1 Page 1 of 2
                      NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT

Also, on the trunk group form make sure send name and number are both 'y'

the new trunk group was missing from the ext codes that were giving me problems i went ahead and added the new trunk group,in my case all the cpn prefix states 954344xxxx with the last 4 spaces blank in comparison to yours hope it works ..... thanks zen216 & jzon

We have a situation when an IP Agent calls a local number CID works, no problem. When the IP Agent calls from home office, and makes an LD call, called party sees UNKNOWN. When an IP Agent calls same number from within HQ called party sees CID. Both calls use the same trunk group and home office callers are local to HQ switch.

Also, in the EXT code above, are the digits agent id's, station id's or both? And finally, in the TRK Grp list is it true if you do not enter any digits there it is for all Trunk Groups?

Thanx
