Is there any possible way a CICS can generate outgoing call display info? I have a customer who was told by the service provider that the phone system was sending out the wrong caller ID. The customer has asked to have "name only" displayed for all six lines. When they call out line six is coming up with the outgoing number, causing customers to call back on the private line.

Thank you Curlycord. This is exactly what I thought. The service provider had this fixed a few months ago now the problem is back. When the customer called to ask them to fix it they were told it was set correctly on the providers end and is most likely the phone system.
Ever had any luck billing a service provider? I am going to find out. I am not expecting payment but this is not the first time I have been called out to fix a telco problem.

We always bill the customer with a note on it to forward this to the carrier. They are much more likely to pay them then you.

Happens very often

Good idea, I'll try that. This customer thinks we are a super hero and I would like to keep that reputation. I hate to bill them for something I know their provider should be doing.

Don't feel guilty send them your bill. They'll be happy to pay you for your excellent service. Around here you'll never get the telco to pay for your call out and why should they? The customer called you, not them. The customer, if they knew what they were doing, can a) call the provider themselves and there would be no charges and b) have no use for your services. But they don't and they rely and are happy to pay for your expertise.

Marv-

Most of the time when this happens to us, it is because telco was originally called but couldnt fix the problem and then blamed it on us. Then we came out and proved it was a telco issue.

Thanks for the advice. Phoneguy that is exactly what happened. I sent my invoice to the customer with a note saying "after payment is made feel free to forward this to your service provider". My customer happily paid, since they don't like dealing with the telco I doubt they said anything to them.
