I am trouble shooting an outgoing calling ID tag issue on an IP412 running the 3.2 (53) release. Regardless of the user short code I set the system is transmitting the incoming call route as the caller ID tag. As an example if I dial from a phone with the incoming call route of 555-555-5555 the caller ID will show 555-555-5555. If I call from a phone with out an incoming call route associated with the outgoing caller ID would display as 555-555-5500 (The PRI billing number).

I have tried the following user codes:
[9]N;
NsiXXXXXXXXXXX

and
[9]N;
NsXXXXXXXXXXX

Avaya support has told me that this is a problem with Qwest (my local phone carrier), but I find this hard to believe as the outgoing caller ID is being set by the incoming call route table. The only other part of the puzzle that I would add is that I am trying to set the caller ID to match our 1-800 number.

hi have you tried a user short code of:
Code:?
Feature:Dial
Telephone Number:.sNumber you wish to send out

this seems to work for me.

I tried that as well as a user short code and the number sent was that of my incoming call route. My understanding is that user short codes over write system short codes, is this correct?

I'm having a similar problem. With user shortcodes (3.2.54)
SC [9]1N;
TN 1Nsi2225551212
feature dial3k1
This sends caller ID correctly but
SC [9]N;
TN Nsi2225551212
feature dial3k1
This sends the default "bill to number" unless it a incoming call route then it sends the incoming digits.
Try short code with the 1Nsi and see what happens.I'm waiting for a call back from Avaya.

Sometimes the local carrier is not configured to allow PBX to poplulate CID fields. If standard shortcodes do not work, you may check with them.

There is a bug in the 3.2(53) code release.

This will not work:
Short Code: 9N;
Feature: Dial 3K1
TN: Ns8005555555

This will work:
Code: 9xxxxxxxxxxx
Feature: Dial 3K1
TN: Ns8005555555

It appears that you cannot use ‘N’ in user short codes. The above code works for me as I am trying to pass a toll free number for out of state calls. If someone has a solution that would work for both long distance and local calls please let me know.

The above should have read:

This will not work:
Short Code: [9]N;
Feature: Dial 3K1
TN: Ns8005555555
