Good afternoon,

These forums have been a saviour while I have been configuring the Auto Attendant feature of our (ancient) Avaya system. I have an issue that I can't quite work out and that is how to direct the AA selection to an outbound call. Customer calls, presses option 1 for department "x" which is actually in a remote office so need to dial out.

I have the AA option set to "Transfer" when 1 is pressed with 9+telephone number (we use 9 for outbound calls) and the call hangs on hold without connecting. I have tried NormalTransfer and Transfer with no joy. I am very novice so apologies if this is an obvious answer. The AA's other options work fine as these are all internal extensions.

We are running Avaya IP Office Manager V 9.1.2.0.
Edit: Essentials licence only so running Embedded Voicemail if that makes a difference.

First question, can you manually transfer incoming calls to the number. Its barred by default and until you've turned off the trunk to trunk transfer restrictions so that you can do it manually the AA won't be able to do it either.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thank for the speedy reply - yes, I can transfer incoming calls to the number. I just tested now by calling in from my mobile and then manually transfering to the number and it worked.

I would transfer it to a forwarded internal extension and see if that works.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*
*(Disclaimer for all advise given)--'Version Dependent'

Sorry for the bump, I was on two weeks annual leave and it appears my counterpart did nothing in the interim...
I setup a forward internal extension which, when dialled internally from another phone works and forwards the call out, however when forwarding from the AA still doesn't forward out and the automated message plays, "Sorry this extension is unavailable".

If you have analog lines, make sure Allow Analog Trunk to Trunk Connect is checked for each line. If you don't have analog lines, check under System-Telephony and make sure Inhibit Off-hook Transfer is not checked.

Stupid question: In the AA have you tried normal transfer to the outside number instead of transfer?

How many lines/channels do you have and of what kind?
