I am looking for a solution for call back to a number in the missed calls list of phone manager. Right now users try to right click and call back a number on their displays ex. 202-xxx-xxxx. But, the display reads incompatible.

The documentation states:

To callback a missed call:

Click the Missed tab.

Double-click the call to return the call.
If the outbound prefix is not shown contact your system administrator.

What does the system administrator have to do to enable the outbound prefix?

Thanks

You are missing the 9 an 1 before dialing the number. Go to the lines where you can configure each trunk or curuit. You will see the field called prefix. You would need to add in "91". (9 will send call on outside line and the 1 you are missing when dialing a long distance call or local call with 1-area code) You will notice after the change in your logs that incomming numbers will appear as " 91-555-555-5555" instead of "555-555-5555". Good luck with that!

Thanks for the quick reply. I want to make sure I am following you correctly. If I add the 91 in the prefix field of my PRI line group, how will that effect [9] system short codes (I'm running 3.2.54)? And, most especially, I have numerous users with [9]Nsi202xxxxxxx user short codes for sending individual caller id (I did it that way because we have a number of different area codes). Will adding the 91 in the pri line group prefix cause a conflict with those user short codes?

Thanks again.

No, It will not affect the outgoing shortcodes of your users. The prefix field is really for incomming calls into the switch. It just adds 91 infront of the numbers so when you look at your logs on your phone/phone-manager and decide to call somone back, you hit call and the call will go out. This is just for callback features within IPO.

I added a 91 to the prefix field on the PRI and the problem was fixed. Thanks for the input.
