Outbound CID on SIP trunks 2

I have a new install running 8.1.56 using SIP trunks from Cox.
There is an issue with the outgoing caller ID, it only sends the 3 digit ext number of the user.

In the SIP line/SIP URI/Local URI, if I enter "use internal data, the outbound CID works fine, however when I use internal data it blocks inbound calls on all of the DIDs except the main billing number. If I set the Local URI to a "*", all the DIDs work again, but then the outbound CID goes back to the ext number!

Any ideas?

When you use internal data then all the DID's must be programmed somewhere.
If you only have a couple DID's then set them on the groups because the programmed URI on the users is used for outbound on those users.
Another option is to enter all DID's as URI's at the SIP trunk.

When setting up SIP do 3 URIs

1 - setup as account number
2 - setup as use internal data
3 - setup as *

All have the same incoming ID (ie 200) then you set outgoing to 200, 201 and 202 respectively.

In the ICR add the DDIs against Line group 200, and on the ARS set the outgoing to use 201. This means incoming works and outgoing CLI will be whatever is set against the User SIP tab.

Also if you want to pass through original caller information to any forwarded calls then set the Send Caller ID on the SIP line to be Diversion header.

Pepp77, this will show 3 times the amount of channels then you are licensed for.
I have seen providers having issues with this and not sending a 486 (busy here) when they are out of licenses (not channels)
