Have a server edition deployment and for some reason when the digital phones make an outbound call sometimes it will conference in their voicemail box and will leave a message. Has anyone run into this same issue?
tlpeter, Yes, there is an expansion gateway and when a Digital phone makes an outbound call the calls are routed across a H323 trunk to the server edition using a basic short code 9, dial, N and then when it hits the server edition it matches the ARS and calls out the SIP trunk configured on the Server Edition.
Yes, call recording is turned on for both inbound and outbound. I can reproduce it and it happens often when the digital phones make a call and they reach the customers auto-attendant and I have press a digit.
Does it happen with an IP phone on the server edition itself too?
We run a server with an IP500v2 but only as a trunk gateway and i had the same in the 9.0 field trials.
But i do not have a digital phone on it with recording turned on.
IPGuru has a good point, if it is just leaving a message in the mailbox then it is working as designed. I assumed when flopeedo said that it would "conference' the voicemail, that everyone on the call was hearing "Welcome to IP Office, for help at anytime press *H.......".
Phonetastic is correct, when I mentioned it conferenced the voicemail that is what is happening. Its not the call recording (I did use the VRL, but Chronicall instead of Contact Store).
In short when the digital phones make an outbound call, once the call is connected everyone on the call will hear either welcome to IP Office, or it will extn 215 isn't available, please leave a message.
IPGuru, i had the same in the trials.
Only i had the mailbox mentioned from a fax that is on the expansion system and IP phones on the server.
I think they did not fix it completely but only on the server itself.
Avaya is really cutting corners on the software versions these days.
Every release the same issues and when you report them then they do like it is a totally new bug while i even had an old ticket number of it
I guess they kicked out the former programmers and replaced them by a bunch of new guys.
Cutting corners is right. This is from the Technical Bulletin for 9.0.1.0.845....
3 IP Office Resolved Field Issues
The software releases contained in this Service Pack do not contain any resolved
customer field issues. However, they do resolve a number of issues found during
internal test cycle.
We had a couple of tickets open that should have been fixed in this release and were not. Even if they are bench fixes, at least list them.......
