Hello,
Our set up is an IP Office 406 unit with IP 400 digital stations, running on version 3.2(17) and IP Office Manager 5.2. We traverse over two PRIs, of which 1.5 is utilized. The problem is that outbound called ID only workds sporadically. I have at least one phone which seems to broadcast the correctly assigned DID every time when making a call. Other phones will just broadcast correctly half the time, while still others never. When they do not properly broadcast the correct DID, what they do broadcast is just the main number that our PRIs are assigned to.

From what I can tell, the users that do work correctly vs those that do not always work well appear set up the same within IP Office, especially where short codes are concerned and User Rights. These are the areas I believe are important to call ID. My feeling is that something may not be set up with correctly with the PRIs, and that certain channels do not broadcast properly? Just a wild guess. Can anyone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot? Many thanks

It is possible that one of the PRI's does not allow DID info to be sent for outbound. If that is the case, they would mask the caller id with the main number. I would make sure both PRI's are set-up to allow DID info to pass through.

Ok, silly question, but would that be a setting on Avaya PBX or from carrier? If environmental to Avaya IP Office, what would that setting be? Thanks again.

The carrier has to allow DID's to be sent out. If they don't have it allowed, the carrier will mask the main number over anything the IPO is sending. So, in theory if one of the PRI's is not programmed to allow DID's to be sent via the carrier, then sporadically you would have the issue where the main number would be sent out.

I'd also not rule out that 3.2.17 may have bugs. It is an early build in the 3.2 train

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

If you run Monitor and view ISDN Layer 1 2 3 events it should tell you the digits the IP Office are sending up to the PRI. If you have a DID assigned to the User it should send out these digits on outbound calls, but as TelecomBoy says, the ultimate decision is up to the provider if they feel like letting your Caller ID digits be sent or if they mask it with your main CLID number.

Spoke with carrier support and made some outbound test calls for them. Test calls from lines that show outbound callerID correct, others that do not. They claim that the lines that do not show callerID correctly are only sending out 4 digits. The lines that show callerID correctly are sending out 10 digits. I have checked the user lines set up in IP Office of the lines that work correct and those that do not always work correct. They appear identical, especially for their Short Codes. If there is a setting elsewhere in IP Office pertaining to the number of digits that are sent outbound, can anyone please let me know?

This direction does not feel correct to me, because the problem line(s) do work properly SOME of the time. I can make two calls back to back from the same phone, and one call shows caller ID correctly while the other call does not. I would think if it is set up wrong on the Avaya PBX it either works or it doesn't. Perhaps previous suggestion of Avaya system bug is correct.

look at your incoming call routes to make sure they are all programmed as 10 digits

Just wanted to circle back around and report that the issue did seem to be incoming call routes were not all set up for 10 dialing. Once I put iXXXXXXXXXX, all seemed to work well. Thanks for everyone's input.
