Seems that our outbound caller id displays one of our employee's name. I have opened a ticket with the service provider but they say they are not forwarding that name. Our public-unknown-numbering shows the CPN as our main number. A list trace shows "Calling Number & Name xxx-xxx-xxxx NO_CPName". Avaya has not been much help. Can anyone provide any direction?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know the public unknown is numeric, it doesn't send text. We use the public unknown, but it never reads that in a list trace, as it does in yours. We have so many caller ID issues, all the time. I can never get a clear answer from any side.

The Avaya engineers where not able to point to any other setting that could be sending that name. The service provider says that they forward what is sent to them from our PBX.

I do know that a local Avaya engineer pointed me in the direction of

Display system-parameters features

Tab 8 USNI Calling Name for Outgoing Calls?

Setting that to Y sends the name from what I understand.

They talk about this here:

There's a special application that can override name display on ISDN trunks IF you're allowed to send your name in the first place. If so, changing that to YOURCOMPANY would change it. Otherwise, nothing will change my iPhone showing Bob Smith when I get a call from 555-555-1234 and my iPhone has a contact of Bob Smith at 555-555-1234

Yeah cell phones are a different thing for sure. Our problems reside mostly with people who have old caller ID boxes sitting attached to their land line.

JJacobs313, I did look on tab 8 of the system-parameters features, looks like it was set to Y. I also read the linked article where it talked about the USNI Calling Name for Outgoing Calls, it is set to N.
I will now test and let you know. Thanks again.
