Just this morning we switched from our 20 year old traditional PRI to a SIP provider that installed a SBC in our server room. The new services still terminates using our PRI card in the IPO. In the ARS tables, I lost my ability to control what shows up for outbound caller ID using sXXXXXXX. Is this even possible anymore with the way our new SIP lines terminate?

It should absolutely work, just ask your new provider to let you send outgoing caller ID.

You need different outgoing IDs on the URIs if you have several.

If you're URI uses Auto you can set CLI with the s in the shortcode, if it uses Internal Data it picks the CLI from the Users SIP tab.

It actually is working if you call cell phones or other numbers. It's not working when dialing a test number like 1800-444-4444 or 933 (911 test number) Always says our primary number even if I have it masked.

So I can completely control outbound caller ID to just about anything but services like 911, 933, or 1800-444-4444 (MCI). Is there a way around this?

Who is the new provider? AT&T IP Flex, for instance, will issue a couple of test numbers, which must be used for toll free and 911 until they port over your numbers, then they will accept your main billing telephone number for those calls. If you ask for the pbx to control the outbound CID, they will allow any number to be sent except for toll free and emergency, which must be replaced with a valid number on your circuit.

Honestly not sure who the new provider is. So many middle men. All I know is that we cut our bill in half from our traditional PRI. We deal with a local reseller who does all of our Voice and Data. Right now it's just 911 and the 933 number that's not responding to how I make the ARS table. Every single other thing I can control the outbound ID. The number I am trying to send is a valid number on our circuit and is ported in. I can call it just fine and it hits our phone system. Having the telco control the outbound caller ID for 911 will be a problem as we have two locations with only one IP Office. I need to control how 911 works for about 10 people.
