My questions pertain to call information sent out by Norstar over ISDN/PRI service. Per MICS 5.0 & 6.0 Installer Guide, Norstar sends the calling party name based on Business Name and Set Name concatenated together. Some of the information I've reviewed on this site indicate that OLI # is also sent out on calls originated by the Norstar system.
Does the calling party name mask the OLI # or are both pieces of information sent out together? Does assigning a Business Name in Norstar cancel the OLI # feature as suggested by some of the posts on this site? The guides indicate that OLI # is based on the set number. Does this mean that the number assigned to OLI # cannot be an arbitrary number and must be based on the set number, or is it that Norstar ignores the OLI # setting if it is not based on the set number? Does the LEC need to provide a special service to allow Norstar to send out call information in addition to the service that provides caller ID/information to the Norstar? What other services or features are necessary to allow individual stations/DNs send out specific caller ID?
Thanks in Advance.
