I know of the setting to allow or disallow sending out of office replies to the Internet. Is it possible to do this on a "per user" basis? In other words, allow one or two people to send to the internet, but turn that off for everyone else?

Just want to make sure I follow your question. You want to know if you can restrict certain users from using OOF externally while allowing others to use it?

As far as I am aware that cannot be done. The permission is server based and does not provide any filtering.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Basically we have OOF blocked to the Internet, but one user wants it to go out. Our work around is to create a rule with the Rule Wizard to emulate OOF since we permit them to go to the Internet.
Thanks for your reply.

The out of office "allow" setting in Exchange is global. It's all or nothing.

Outlook rules can respond to incoming emails but is meager....

How's your rule set up? Our Exchange Servers at various clients won't allow this when autoresponses to the internet are suppressed.

Thanks strongm. That is what we did. Just a little more complicated. We do permit user defined rules to reply to the Internet.
