I have SCO 5.0.5 on a server with 4 Hard Drives in RAID 5 configuration, 512 MB of memory, 24 GB of space. Last weekend I backed up the drive, ran divvy, and divided u1 into 3 parts: u1, u2, u3. I successfully mounted u1 and u2, but when I tried to do u3 I got a system panic and a message that said I was out of inodes. All the u* drives were empty at that point. After rebooting, /u1 and /u2 were fine. U3 shows up as a file in root directory, but not as a filesystem in sysadmin.

Any suggestions for finding more inodes so I can mount the u3 filesystem?

I dont have an answer for you but may be able to point you
on your way.
I use and find it very helpful.
It is a search engine by sco tech advisors.
The ta stands for technical articles. You can search
using "out of inodes" and get several responses. TA = 106289
seemed close to me. I am new at SCO Unix but really like
it good luck.

This is a tunable parameter. Starting point probably should be page 256 in the manual.

Thanks for replying so quickly.
Which manual? I have lots of books.

This in SCO Open Server Handbook, under troubleshooting system level problems, checking system configuration, which is the response to system panics. Sorry I can't give the answer. I haven't fought the battle in 5.0.5 and I've forgotten how I did it in 4.2.
