Hi All,

I am very new to Meridian 1 programming and am finding it somewhat difficult to decipher all of the pneumonics. I understand that a product called OTM is a much easier way to do all of the programming on an Option 11C and was wondering where I might find this product and what the prerequesits were to install it.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Harold Bondy

OTM is a gui interface produced by NORTEL. It is easy to use if you know computers. It is pricey depending on who your service provider is. You dont have to know the CLI loads to do the programing

Would you know where I might get a copy? Am I entitled to get a copy depending on the Feature set of the switch? Is there a feature 399 which enables this program to run on a switch or are there separate licensing issues?

I bought my switch on Ebay. I dont see any Optivity Telephone managers on there for sale.....

Hi Harold,
You might like to take a look at our Windows-based solution - PhoneMaster. It is widely acknowledged as the easiest-to-use Switch Administration package for Meridians in the market. You can download an interactive demonstration copy from
Thanks,
Terry.

One thing to consider is if you are going to look into setting up and maintaning ITG on your switch, you will need OTM for that.

salo0920,

It may be difficult for you to get OTM from the usual Nortel channels if you got your switch from E-bay.
If you have documented transfer of ownership (signed letter, etc.) from the registered equipment owner then you may be in luck. Otherwise I am sure that there are folks out there dropping OTM that may want to sell their system to you. Again, to get upgrades etc from Nortel you need to register and prove legitimate Software License transfer.

Where are you anyway?

Hi Harold - I have been on vacation and just saw your posting.

If you are trying to do set programming (MACs) - then Phonemaster would be an excellent product to use. It makes the programming very simple - it is in plain English, you can drag and drop programming onto keys.

You really don't need to know a lot about the LDs to program the sets using Phonemaster. This is the first product that we've been able to get our non-Meridian phone support staff to use.

It is very cost effective too. The support people at Phoneware are very good - they always answer the phone and they work thru any questions or problems very quickly with you.

If you want more info, feel free to contact me directly.
