I need to configure an ATA module on a 3902 phone so that the person can plug a laptop. I know that I need to select a port starting at 17, but OTM will not list ports after 16.
Any ideas?
Thanks! But I need to configure the ATA through OTM. A Nortel Tech instructed me to only use OTM for configuring voice and data. If I do it directly on the switch it must be uploaded to OTM which causes links in the OTM database to break. So hopefully someone with OTM experience can help me.
Not familiair with OTM but in MAT a digital set only can be configured on a VOICE port on a NT8D02
MAT will not list the data ports.
In MAT view hardware should give the appropriate voice/data unit card try to enable something like 'data unit' there and try again.
The workaround I always use is program this in the switch (1 per card should do) and retrieve the whole programmed card (this will also update the card in the 'Hardware' section)
If you already have a dataunit in OTM somewhere look at the hardware section and switch the other card to the hardware found there
If I remember correctly you program the ATA on the corresponding port on the data side. IE: voice port 1 is data port 17 2 is 18 and so forth.
Program port 16 and beyond as a 2616 with only key 0 with as scr xxxx. No other key programing needed. Also you have to put VCE and FLXA in the class of service so that the switch knows that it is an ata.
Then just install the ATA on the 3900 series phone. It will give you analog dial tone.
In OTM, you add a set similiar to the primary set. Then you have to change FLXA, CPTD prior to assigning a TN. OTM will pass validation and allow ports greater than 16.
