Hi. I just got my OTM and are trying to add our Opt.11 system to it, but I keep getting error messages.
I can add a Site, but when adding a System, I can fill in the General tab and the Communication tab, but when I go to the Customers tab there are no customers listed, and when I press ADD, and choose customer 0 and press OK, I get the error message "Failed to open database for adding a new customer".
If I leave the Customer tab blank, and try the System Data tab, I get the error message "An error occured while attempting to initialize the selected property page. The page will be disabled." This also happends on the Applications tab.
Can anybody help me out on this?
The sample Site and Samle meridian 1 look OK, I can open all tabs on them, but not on one that I create myself...
Thanks :)

If you just had OTM installed why didn't the vendor set up all your sites for you?I would call in a trouble ticket to the vendor to remedy any problems. Its possible this could be an installation error.

There are lots of problems when OTM should be installed.
More that what acctually would be acceptable, but that is facts right now.
It could actually be wich specific hardware you run on, not only OS in the pc.

The problem you have written about can be part of this text below. It to describes what to check if you have an installed OTM system but got problems when you should use it.

Many individual problems can cause this problem .
Follow the troubleshooting steps below - in order.
=============================================================================================================================
1 - Identify if DLL file conflicts are occurring:
a) The following steps must be executed on both the OTM Client PC and the OTM Server
b) Ensure that the PC is logged onto the network in the same manner as will be used in normal operation. This will
ensure that mapped network drives are connected (if applicable), ensure that the OTM Software is up and running
c) Locate and launch \Nortel\pvsw\bin\Sscout32.exe. Under the components tab ensure that all DLL files
are located in the \Nortel\pvsw\bin folder.
Example below:
# Module Usage Size Date Location
1 wsock32.dll Yes 21,776 05/04/01 c:\winnt\system32\
2 w3aif104.dll No 125,440 01/28/00 c:\nortel\pvsw\bin\

***** Notice line 21 and 22 - the wbtr32.dll file is being loaded from the OS system32 directory NOT the TM directory.
***********
This is how a duplicate DLL will be shown. The Sscout32.exe tools searches the directories identified in the Path
*******
Note: WSOCK32.DLL may be run from another folder.

Make note of the DLL files that have duplicates - including their location - then close Sscout32.exe.

d) If duplicate DLLs are found, the duplication must be rectified by one of two methods:

NOTE: Both of the above methods may cause other PC applications that use the same DLL to have problems.
i) Locate the duplicate DLL in the \\System32 directory. Rename it to ".old".
Copy the DLL from the \Nortel\pvsw\bin directory structure into the \\System32 directory.
OR
ii) Modify the Path environment variable on the PC so the OTM structure is at the beginning. Right click on my
computer, select properties. In the resulting system properties window, select the advanced tab, three choices
are available at this screen, select environment variables. In the environment variable window in the bottom half of the box labelled system variable find the variable "Path" highlight it and select edit. The path will look something like what follows (the disk drive letters may be different):
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Nortel\CommonServices\Program\Nortel\Millennium\Execs;C:\Nortel\pvsw\bin.
Go to the end of the statement and cut d:\Nortel\pvsw\bin, move the cursor back to the start of the path and
paste, the statement should now read as follows:

C:\Nortel\pvsw\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Nortel\CommonServices\Program\Nortel\Millennium\Execs
e) Repeat step (c) above with the Sscout32.exe program to ensure the duplication has been removed.
f) Ensure that if any Novell Dlls are listed (netware.drv) ensure that the version of Novell installed meets requirements
2) Remember Step 1(a) - Perfrom on both the OTM Server AND Client
3) If OTM Server is Multi-homed, the Binding Order on the OTM Server must be configured C-Lan First:
i) To configure the Binding Order on a Windows 2000 Server:
Open Network and Dial-up Connections.
Click the connection you want to modify, and on the Advanced menu, click Advanced Settings.
On the Adapters and Bindings tab, in Bindings for adapter name, click the protocol that you want to move up or down in the list, and then click the Up or Down button.

Notes
To open Network and Dial-up Connections, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up Connections.
To modify the protocol bindings order, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group.
