OSX Redraw Problem

I have been working with pagemaker since you only needed 1 meg of ram. Now I have a new iMac with OSX plus OS 9.2 that opens when you open an applic. that needs it. When I am working on a document and scroll down, either with scroll bar or usin g the shortcut option, it will leave half the page blank. Which half depends on whether I am going up or down. Sometimes it will leave white spaces across the page. It's driving me bananas. Especially if I am working on something off the page or viewing at 200 %. It also will leave text blank on the page unless I select it and use the color menu to make it black. Pagemaker Tech Support is no help. One heard of it and one did not. Nor is Apple Support. I usually know more than they do. Has anyone run acrose this before? Could it be my monitor. It is the 17" flat one and looks like a lap top picture. HELP! I should say it will redraw if I hit the view (command 0, 1, or 2 or 4) but it will not always show me the part I want to work on. When I scroll to get to it, it blanks out again. Ugh!

I'm not familiar with Macs, but do you have your PM Graphics preferences switched to 'normal' (or default - can't remember the exact term) view and not 'High resolution'?

Thank you, Eggles for your suggestion, but I have tried standard, hight res. and grayout. It is the same for all as well as in 6.5. Are there any iMac users out there? I would suspect it might be the monitor, but it only does it in Pagemaker, not in PS or Ill. or any of the browsers on Office docs. TIA
