Dear Friends
Good Day
Can anyone guide me where I can find the below SIP parameter in OSB system.

[b]a=silenceSupp:eek:ff - - - - >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>let customer remove this parameter

Call are initiating and establashing with called number but no speech path is active.
Service provider send us the above parameter to remove.
Can anyone guide me please.

Thanks

I don't know more than two diddlies about SIP, but I have some OS40s and 60s running on it for special purposes, I have provisioned several Polycom speakerphones on it, and I have provisioned (against my will) several Cisco phones on it. The Cisco phones were the biggest PITA because they have different names for some of the parameters. One thing I have found is it is important to have your gateway addresses set up properly and in some cases there is one gateway for incoming and another one for outgoing and I didn't have them both set. In some cases the station number could just be 4 digits and in other cases it has to be the full 10-digit number, and sometimes there is a place to put that in for incoming and a different place to put it in for outgoing.

Just throwing that out there. I have done ZERO SIP trunking yet, so that may all be completely different, but just a suggestion that you might need to specify the gateway address or call or system ID information in more than one place in the config....

Good luck!

Silence Suppression ?
On the 4000 that would be called VAD - Voice Activity Detection -
When callers on the phone stop talking the system injects silence so it reduces the overhead of actually generating background noise.
It does save bandwidth but it can sound choppy.
Normally it is turned off on 4000, on OSB sorry no idea.

Hello to all my friends

when we connect the SIP trunk provided by ITSP
some operators not required this silence support parameter to be received from PABX.
If the parameter present the ITSP understand that it is a data signal instead of voice.
call will be established and no speech path activated.
The receiver will not hear any voice from the caller.

This was happen in OS4K and silence support parameter was removed and now there was no any issue with all 4K systems.

The same issue came in OSB systems.
If open the ticket with UNIFY it will take months to resolve the issue.

Thanks

VAD in OsBiz can be activated/deactivated in Expert Mode->Telephony Server->Voice Gateway
->Codec Parameters

We have connected minmum 15-20 different ITSPs with OsBiz but with VAD we never
had any problems here.
Mostly we had STUN or firewall problems when there is no speech.
