Hi

I'm using X 10.3 and am trying to use safari to access an internal FTP site.

I casn connect and download without any problems, but when I try to copy a file to the FTP site I get the following error

Can not copy <filename> because the <ftp server name> cannot be modified.

Anybody know how to get round this?

Cheers

Andrew

PS I know I can use an FTP client but that's not what I need.

Does Safari have FTP upload capbility?

Web browsers generally will now allow you to upload to an ftp site unless they are accessing a webpage designed to allow you to do that.

Had the same problem once and i quickly found out, that it was the passive mode protocol which not allowed med to upload the files.
Instead of oploading the just opened in the browser.
Check your ftp config and try to disable the passive mode transfer protocol.

It worked for me.
