Hello everyone

I am a beginner in SSIS package .I need to transfer data from Oracle to DB2 on AS 400 OS . Table names and column name on both ends are different .
I want to know if SSIS package is an appropriate option to do this task and there won't be any limitation while working with it . Or else I should create a Window service to perform this task .

Thanks & Regards
Ankur

Also let me tell you that this SSIS package will be schedules to run daily and perform the data migration .

SSIS is one of the options - but depending on volumes there might be better options.

one thing you will need to worry about, and this is regardless of the method you use, is the codepage conversion between Oracle and DB2/OS400. Again how this is done, and how hard/easy it is do to will depend on the exact process used to transfer the data (and this is if the data on Oracle does really match the codepage of its table.. sometimes it doesn't)

Hi Frederico ,

Oracle and DB2/OS400.

Thanks & Regards
