AIxers,

ORacle application recommends Raid 0+1, I am very much aware of different kind of raids, but then i'm thinking how to configure it in an AIX system? HArdware raid 0 then software 1 or rather no choice but use RAID10 instead which is quite diffrent from 0+1 as well?

Thanks a lot!

HI Bonsky
In AIX Raid O+1 or Raid 1+0 or Raid 10 I beleive is the same thing.
AIX needs a minimum of 4 disks and a maximum of 16
Just did this for a customer running Oracle 8i
Dont bother yourrself about this nomenclature
Just choose the last option in the SSA raid Array menu

Goodluck

really?!!
okay.. thanks a lot. i supposed this wont affect the ORACLE at all.. hehe...
thanks dude!

Hi Bonsky
where should I get all information about installing and configuration of oracle in unix AIX system.
I want to be familiar with ORACLE SQL commands

You'd probably get your info from Oracle. I usually just run a few scripts for our DBAs while they handle installation/upgrade. I don't know if that's any help but I assume they are using an Oracle document to do the install. The newer Oracles have a Java-based installation GUI, too.
