I am currently researching a project that I need to complete eventually. I need to know if what I intend to do is possible. My resident "Oracle expert" told me that I may need to buy a piece of software called a "gateway?" in order to accomplish this. But she also told me that she hasn't looked into doing anything like this for some time, so I should go ahead and post.
Here is what I want to do:
OracleDatabase resides in Oracle.
ParadoxDatabase resides in Paradox.
I would like to create a "live" link between the OracleDatabase and the ParadoxDatabase. The OracleDatabase needs to have access to the data in the ParadoxDatabase. It would be simple if it was the other way around....but I need the OracleDatabase to have a view of the data in the ParadoxDatabase. Does Oracle have something built in like Microsofts ODBC's to handle this? If so can you point me in the right direction?
