Hi,

I got this error message when I tried to connect to Oracle from a midware software, which transfers data from OPC servers to SQL databases. According to the documentation of the middleware, there shouldn't be any problem of connecting to Oracle once the ODBC DSN is set up correctly. Of course I tested the ODBC connection and the Oracle ODBC DSN was set up correctly when this error message came up.

Does anybody know what this message is really complaining about?

Thanks,
Lydia

Got the answer. It was because the the OPC tag names are too long. I think the max length for colunm names in Oracle is 30, right?

Thanks,
Lydia
