Hi, I am using XP and Access 2000. I installed Oracle 9i on the machine and went to the ODBC datasouce adminstrator and tried to set up a User DSN but the Oracle ODBC Driver is not in the list to select and the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle will not let me connect. I have done this on other machines but can't remember or figure out why the Oracle ODBC Driver is not available. We have rebooted the machine with no change.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Joel

In Oracle Installer, did you select the ODBC driver? It isn't necessarily installed automatically, but it should be on the left side of the Installer available to add to the right side.

User had installed just the client and then installed the full package and it got messed up. We uninstalled Oracle completely then did a full install. The driver showed up as Oracle HOME_DIRECTORY but we were able to succesfully set up a connection. I am more used to setting up Oracle 8i but if it works we won't fix it!

Thanks for the input.

Joel
