Hi,
I am trying to install oracle 9i on intel solaris 9. I have unziped the cpio files and when I try to run the

./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs command getting the following error:

./runInstaller: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected

I never had this problem before. Please help as I don't know what I did wrong.
Thanks

I would guess that your download (if that is what it is) was corrupted in some way. Can you try again?

I tried with different download like on cd, binary mode etc. All of them are giving the same error. I am using pentium 4.
I have installed sun os on pentium 3 without any problem but unable to do the same with pentium 4.
Is there any patch I need to apply for pentium 4 for oracle?
Thanks for your reply.
