Hey guys,

This is going to be a stupid question, but I can not figure out how to get to the oracle gui...I would really prefer not having to write create scripts and such, because you never know when its going to give you an error for forgetting a coma or something stupid. Either way, if you can tell me where it is, I would be very grateful.

Thanks a lot
kevin

Hi,
There is no 'default' Oracle GUI..

Ther are several Tools with GUI interfaces, like Enterprise Manager, Sql Worksheet, etc.

What do you want to do with one?

Hey turkbear,

I think I was looking for the enterprise manager, when I opened it, it is the one with the capability of creating new tables and such...on a side note, if you let oracle create a default database when you installed it, how do you get rid of all of the default tables? I tried the drop command, but it said that I could not drop the tables, any ideas?? There are like 230 tables it created that I don't need, I need to create the tables from scratch.

What redundant tables do you mean? Oracle may create Sample Schemas if you ask it, but all other tables are noramlly a part of database dictionary or additional features (options).

Regards, Dima

I'm not really sure what the tables are. It did make a sample schema, but it also created the tables that went with it...I know this because if I go into SQLplus and select table_name from user_tables; it returns 265 tables. so, any ideas on how to get rid of those tables?? Or do you think that if I just delete the schema that it may work?

thanks
Kevin
