Oracle External Authentification

Hi All,

I am running Oracle 8i (Enterprise Edition) on an AIX
RS/6000. How do I set up external authentification---using
existing unix id/passwords for Oracle access instead of
creating separate accounts.

create a user in oracle the same name as the unix user. e.g.

instead of

create user fred identified by password

use

create user fred identified externally
