ip_address is ip of oracle box
port is the port the oracle dbms listens on (1521, 1526, etc)
database is the name of the database I hope this helped! ;-)

Also... you can replace 'thin' with 'oci' depending on what your use is ... I'm not real adept at what the differences are but you can find lots of info on them at I hope this helped! ;-)
