Oracle does not install on Windows 2000?

Need you help everyone,

I'm running Windows 2000 professional and when I try to install the Oracle 8.1.7. the installer comes up and when I click install. Nothing happens

Can anyone suggest anything.

Am I missing anything?

ps. I run the install as admin.

yes, its a P4, 2 GigHz.

Any idea?

The problem is not Windows 2000, it is the Pentium 4. This is a known problem. See faq186-1124 in the FAQs area of this forum.

I tried to load oracle 8 ( personal edition & 8i) in window 2000( Intel P II),it's not at all loading and it's giving some error message to quit the install it's all happening after 90% of installation,if any one knows regarding this please help,
your help would be greatly appreciate.
