Greetings!

I'm starting to work with OracleBI Discoverer IAS and I must try out some of its features, in order to suit the company's needs and improve the work done so far.

One of the details that is required to change is the report's info displayed in Discoverer Viewer: the parameters are always shown on top of the table! Is there any way to have this option always colapsed when the page is loaded.. or even to avoid it from appearing at all???

I will be glad if you could help me!
Thanks in advance,

Ricardo Pinto

Hello again!

I have found the following info on this subject:

Problem Description
-------------------

You want to customize the Discoverer viewer interface for some applications
and users. However, for others the standared interface with all functionality
is needed. Instead of customizing the XML/XSL presentation options can be
passed directly in the URL. This is Applicable Only after Discoverer 4.1.42
Plus & Viewer and Higher Patches. This will be especially be useful for
Oracle E-Business Suite (Applications) customers who may not need certain
features exposed. Example: "New Connection".

Solution Description
--------------------
Discoverer Viewer allows passing all Presentation Options as a binary string
into the URL in the following syntax

Discoverer Viewer version 4.1.42 and higher introduces a new URL parameter
called "_po" which is used for passing all the Presentation Options
from URL without having to modify the XML/XSL files.

Below is a sample URL:

1 switches the Option ON
0 switches the Option OFF

Currently, there are 23 presentation options controlled by _po parameter. Each
prestentation option correlates to one of the 23 positions in the parameter.

Below is a list of the presentation option and its relative position:

1. Logo
2. New Connection
3. Open Workbook
4. Options
5. Exit
6. Help
7. Top Blue Bar
8. Worsheets Link
9. ReRun Query
10. Presentation Option
11. Printer Friendly Version
12. Export
13. Parameters
14. Workbook Name
15. Data(Including Worksheet Title)
16. Chart
17. Page Item
18. Drill
19. Pivot
20. Row Numbers
21. Bottom Blue Bar
22. Oracle Copyright
23. Show XML

For example, if you want to switch OFF the "New Connection" presentation option
and have all of the other presentation options switched ON, the the parameter
would look like this:

_po=10111111111111111111111

The 2nd position which correlates to the "New Connection" presentation option is
set to 0 or OFF.

For Oracle E-Business Suite (Applications) Viewer Customers:
----------------------------------------------------------------

If you have applied ICX Patch 2154949 then you can specify this new "_po"
parameter in ICX profile ICX: DISCOVERER PARAMETERS (ICX_DISCOVERER_PARAMETERS)
at the site, user or responsibility level and it will be added automatically to
the URL when an E-Business Intelligence (BIS/EDW) analysis workbook is called.

Note: The Discoverer Viewer version displayed in lower left corner CANNOT be removed using the "_po" parameter.

Hey!

The previous post applies only for older versions of Oracle Discoverer.

After weeks of searching, I came to this point: the only solution is to edit the configuration files (.uix) on the server.

Anyone there familiar with these files??

Best regards,

Ricardo.

Hey!

I found it: the file is "Worksheet.uix"
in \j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer\
and what must be deleted is:

"form destination="/discoverer/app/parameters"" (...) until
"form"

Farewell,

Ricardo.
