Hy all,
I need help to recover Oracle databaseonline backup by networker!!!!! I managed to perform Oracle online full backup by using nwadmin tool: I defined group, scheduling and create a new client! I checked /nsr/logs/daemon.log and ebulogs and it's all ok! To backup the database I'm using a script like this:
#backup online database
#db_name="inv_db"
#archdelete
#log="/pds_bin/networker/ebulogs/backup_online_full_inv.log"
Backup finished successfully! But when I run nwrecover tool I'm not be able to find a way to restore the database! I can only read a list of savesets of the client, but they are named with a numerical label ! I only managed to restore index file from tape! How can I read what oracle files are inside one saveset? What is the procedure(what is the menu I need to access) to recover the complete database? I have to use command line to restore the database or there is a legato tool to get it???

Are you using the networker oracle module? If not, networker will back up open and closed oracle databases, but you will only be able to restore closed ones. Although it says it backs up the open database files, you will have little success in getting the database to work. That is why they sell the oracle add-on module. If you are using the oracle module, then I can provide some instructions for RMAN recovery. Mike davison

I am not an ORACLE expert but it seems you are running RMAN and NetWorker Module for Oracle (NMO).

To restore, as long as your client index is up-to-date,
write a RMAN script to open channels and issue something as a "restore database" statement.

RMAN will get its information from your controle files or your RMAN catalog.

cf Oracle RMAN documentation
cf NetWorker NMO documentation

Hope it helps.
